This isn’t just a recipe—it’s an experience.


🕰️ HISTORY

Bread is ancient magic. 14,000 years old. Born in fire, shaped by hands, risen with time. The Egyptians gave us the first yeasted breads, and the rest is love-stained history.

Poets, grandmas, bakers, sleepy Sunday morning couples.
Every loaf has a story—this one might become yours.


🧪 FORMATION & METHOD

Bread = flour + water + salt + yeast + time.
That’s it. But formation? That’s science: gluten strands forming networks, yeast feeding, dough rising like a slow breath.
It’s alive until it meets the fire.


🧂 INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 ½ cups (420g) bread flour
  • 1 ½ tsp (9g) salt
  • 1 tsp (4g) instant yeast
  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) warm water
  • Optional: 1 tbsp olive oil (adds softness)
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey (just a kiss of sweetness)
  • Optional: seeds/herbs for topping

🍞 INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Mix (5 min)
In a big bowl: flour, salt, yeast.
Add warm water (and oil/honey if using).
Mix until shaggy. No kneading needed.
Cover & let rise overnight, 12–18 hrs.

2. Shape (5 min)
Flour a surface. Turn out dough.
Fold it over a few times gently.
Shape into a round loaf (called a boule).
Place on parchment paper.

3. Second Rise (30–60 min)
Let dough rest. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
Place Dutch oven inside to get hot.

4. Bake (45 min)
Use parchment to lift dough into hot pot.
Bake 30 min covered, then 15–20 min uncovered until golden.

5. Cool (HARD but DO IT)
Let sit 30–60 minutes before slicing.
The inside needs to set. It’s worth the wait.
